Freddie Márquez, PhD, is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and earned his doctorate at the University of California, Irvine in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior, where he studied underlying biological mechanisms that modulate and impair memory in older adults. As a member of the Study of Latinos – Investigation of Neurocognitive Aging (SOL-INCA) Laboratory, Dr. Márquez is interested in studying biological mechanisms related to cognitive aging that will improve diagnostics and treatment approaches.
